On behalf of the NASA Academy Alumni Association, the Gerald A. Soffen Memorial Fund Committee selected Golda Nguyen and Jack Reid to receive a 2021 Soffen Memorial Fund Travel Grant.  Their awards were earned "given their interdisciplinary work, impressive research successes so far, and history of service," in light of which "[the Committee was] pleased to support [their] attendance at the 72nd International Astronautical Congress."

Jack will speak at the International Astronautical Congress on his work to apply the Integrated Modeling Framework called Environment-Vulnerability-Decision-Technology. Golda will speak on research scoping opportunities for transferring methods used to provide health care for astronauts to serve communities with limited resources on Earth.
